PhD in Artificial Intelligence

For researchers who want to make an original contribution to artificial intelligence while continuing their professional careers.

Designed for part-time study alongside professional work, the British-model doctorate takes three to five years. You define a question, establish the method and conduct the research under academic supervision. The field is open across AI; its focus begins with your proposal.

The doctorate culminates in a substantial thesis, examined by specialists and defended in a viva.

For leaders of a company, a division or a public body while AI moves into its operating model.

Strategy, finance, marketing, operations and leadership, taught against an organisation that already runs AI: margins that move when work is automated, investment cases where the asset is a model, job design that shifts with it, vendor contracts that stand up to review.

The thesis is a strategic decision from your own organisation, costed, legally checked and defended.

Practice

Executive AI Management

How AI is steered inside an organisation: what a system does and where its limits lie, what it costs and what it returns, what the EU AI Act, data protection, liability and contract law require, and how roles, approvals and controls are set up.

Six core modules carry 18 ECTS, one of four specialisations adds 9, and a final project of 3 applies it to a case from your own organisation.

Mandate

Chief AI Officer

The qualification for the person who sets AI direction and answers for it. It suits the executive taking on the mandate and the senior specialist being handed it alongside an existing role.

Six pillars carry every level: AI business, AI technology, AI law, a live AI project in your own organisation, AI English and presentation. The project runs through the whole programme, so the register, the risk view, the approval trail and the business case are built on something real rather than on a case study.

Level I runs thirteen modules and closes with an oral examination and a certificate. Levels II and III take the role into your sector and into leading the function, where the work is less about learning the mandate and more about carrying it in front of a board, an auditor or a regulator.

Fully online, alongside your job, built to ISO/IEC 42001 for AI management systems.

Specialism

AI Officer

Five named roles under the Chief AI Officer mandate: AI Governance Officer, AI Risk Officer, AI Compliance Officer, AI Transformation Officer and AI Implementation Officer.

Each path qualifies a specialist for the work that keeps AI decisions ready for review: registers and approval records, risk classification and controls, obligation and audit files, adoption and benefit tracking, requirements and handover.

Level I prepares the recurring work of the role, Levels II and III take it into senior practice.

Transactions

Corporate Finance

A practitioner programme built around live work.

Company valuation carries it: a DCF from the business plan, trading and transaction multiples, WACC and capital structure, the bridge from enterprise to equity value, and a defensible range across methods. M&A follows the same line, from origination through due diligence to post-merger integration, with intangibles, data and AI models valued explicitly.
